City & Guilds 6217 Certificate: Decorating NVQ 2 Certificate.

On both of these decorating courses you will learn the practical aspects of decorating as well as the theory needed to obtain the decorating certificate. Once you have obtained the City & Guilds decorating certificate and gained work experience, you will be able to obtain your decorating NVQ 2 through on the job assessments by a certified decorating assessor. School leavers are able to obtain a NVQ 2 in decorating by attending a part time course at college, over two years.

006 – Painting a timber window frame

007 – Applying emulsion to wall by roller

008 – Painting doors and frames

009 – Applying oil based paint to walls by roller

062 – Removing and hanging wallpaper to walls

063 – Hanging paper to ceilings and painting

Plus any two of the following optional units:

010 – Rust removal and priming metal

011 – Applying paint by spraying

012 – Introduction to glazing for painting and decorating

013 – Using broken colour techniques

014 – Working with hardwood finishes

015 – Removing and refitting a water-filled radiator

064 – Introduction to artexing and coving
