City & Guilds 6217 Certificate: Plastering NVQ 2 Certificate.
On both of these plastering courses you will learn the practical aspects of plastering as well as the theory needed to obtain the plastering certificate. Once you have obtained the City & Guilds Plastering certificate and gained work experience, you will be able to obtain your plastering NVQ 2 through on the job assessments by a certified plastering assessor. School leavers are able to obtain a NVQ 2 in plastering by attending a part time course at college, over two years.
Plastering NVQ 2 Mandatory Units:
(All Candidates must achieve these)
•Conform to General Workplace Safety
•Conform to Efficient Work Practices
•Move and Handle Resources Solid Plastering
Full Route Mandatory Units
•Prepare Background Surfaces for Plasterwork
•Produce Internal Solid Plastering Finishes
•Produce External Solid Render Finishes
Plus any two of the following optional units:
•Apply Finishing Plaster to Background Surfaces
•Install direct Bond Dry Linings
•Lay Sand and Cement Screeds
•Apply Projection Plaster and Maintain Equipment
•Install mechanically Fixed Plasterboard
Trainees who successfully achieve the units listed will be awarded an NVQ Level 2. Key Skills are incorporated in all programmes.
